Description:


On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, join organizers and activists from around the region to commemorate and honor the leadership of Dr. King by taking action against the injustice of the death penalty. For too long, we’ve waited for a vote on repeal of Maryland’s capital punishment, and on January 16 we’ll stand to make it known that we can wait no longer, and that now is the time for repeal. We’ll rally at the Thurgood Marshall memorial, before meeting face to face with members of the Maryland state legislature to urge them to push for repeal in 2012. We’re honored to be joined by Kim Davis, Troy’s sister, whose presence will help inspire us all to finally see the end of the death penalty in Maryland!

Buses and caravans will be leaving from Baltimore, Rockville, Westminster, and Howard University in DC, and write to jmanske@aiusa.org if you’d like to join one of these groups.
