The following is my comment I placed on that link. But being a SL site I doubt the will entertain it.
If a patient visits a physician with high fever – an ‘effect’ of an underlying medical problem- he may open the window for fresh air or apply ice to prevent possible convulsions. If the physician is worth his salt he will then proceed to investigate the root ‘cause’ of the symptoms.
It is a travesty of common sense that philosophical intellectuals should bark up the wrong tree of ‘effects’. LTTE is the effect of all the ills caused by successive Sinhala dominated governments from inception to silence the Tamils who asked for equality as the government appointed LLRC report states clearly based on submissions by equally philosophical intellectuals.
If a lone erudite philosopher wishes to curtail the tigers locally or abroad he would not succeed by merely beating about the bush but to address the ‘causes.’ The government appointed LLRC has again given the know-how. If these recommendations are fulfilled then these two-legged tigers will melt away never to reappear.
So, why harp on the same monotonous string of ‘rump LTTE’. It is nothing but the desperate efforts to distract from the popular call for investigations how they got rid of them without a ‘single civilian casualty’.

In order to deny genocide, he limits the number of civilian deaths to around 2,000.
