Dear All
As you have probably heard, as many as 140,000 innocent civilians were killed at the end of Sri Lanka‘s civil war and tens of thousands are now amputees due to the government indiscriminate shelling and bombing. Please click on link below and send the appeal letter to the UN Human Rights Council calling on them to to take action.
Under international pressure the United Nations (UN) Secretary Ban Ki-moon created an Advisory Panel to investigate the way forward on the issue of War Crimes.
The UN Advisory Panel‘s report on the end of the violent conflict in Sri Lanka that took place nearly two years ago has opened the eyes of the world and indicates that war crimes were committed. Human rights organisations and the Tamils, via relatives, have long known that countless thousands of innocent civilians were massacred in the final months of the war in 2009. Many in the International Community (IC) steadfastly refused to accept that the Sri Lankan Government could be so brutal and merciless especially given their consistent denials. The UN Report however has begun to remove the scales from their eyes as Sri Lankan denials begin to look desperate.
The UN and the international community failed to act and protect the civilians from being massacred, now they must bring those responsible for war crimes to justice. Please sign the global celebrity backed petition addressed to all of the present members of the Human Rights Council, calling upon them to propose and pass a motion requesting the Security Council to initiate an investigation.
Please act now and click on link and send an appeal letter today, please add contacts of friends and family at the bottom of appeal page and send them the appeal to sign.
Evil will prevail if good men and women do nothing so please Take Action today.
Many Thanks
