The We Sri Lanka Organisation says it will lodge a written complaint with the Chief Justice in relation to attorney’s not being permitted to visit political prisoners at the Anuradhapura Prison. Convener of the organisation Udul Premaratne told NewsRadio relevant attorneys also hope to lodge a complaint with the Bar Association. Premaratne further said a complaint will be lodged with the relevant Magistrate with regard to future court proceedings of suspects.


Meanwhile the hunger strike organised by LTTE prisoners at the Anuradhapura Prison continues. When contacted by Newsradio the Anuradhapura Prisons’ Superintendent said 53 inmates are currently engaged in the strike. The LTTE inmates took action against an alleged attack carried out by prison officials.
