“No, no, in India Gandhi family, take even in US, Bush – Bush senior, Bush junior, Kennedy – Kennedy junior, next time, Obama – Obama junior, but they are small. So, I mean it’s happening in the all part of the world. It’s not only Sri Lanka and mind you that all these people were elected by the people of this country. They got the most votes.” President Mahinda Rajapaksa said when asked about the Rajapaksa family dynasty by a CNN reporter.
Rajapaksa answered questions related to Indian – Chinese conflict issues with investments in Sri Lanka. “We invited India to invest our ports and all, they just rejected saying that it’s not viable. So, we invited China.” Rajapaksa said. When asked even India and Sri Lanka has historical and cultural relationships, still China seems to get preference Rajapaksa said “no always first India and second preference is China”
When asked about UN panel report he said “no, it’s not a UN report and its Darusman report.” “When asked whether all HR violation reports are not true, Rajapaksa said “we have to inquire it, we have already done it. LLRC is independent…after the report, I will take action, anybody from top to bottom”
