A group of British Tamils are walking all the way from Manchester to London to highlight their call to the British Government to act on Sri Lankan war crimes and help to end an ongoing genocide of Tamils in hidden and various forms in northern Sri Lanka.

Their walk will start at Piccadilly Gardens in the centre of Manchester on Saturday (8.30 am) October 29th and visit Congleton, Stoke-on-Trent, Cannock, Birmingham, Coventry, Daventry, Milton Keynes, St. Albans and ending in Downing Street, London on November 07th. They have planned stalls in all the major cities during the walk (see below). The walk currently has four volunteers with many more joining as part walkers along the route under the title Walk for Justice & Peace in Sri Lanka for Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Their specific demands are:

1) End Sri Lankan military rule and respect human rights in Tamil areas

2) Bring the proprietors of the Genocide of Tamils (especially in the final weeks of conflict) to the International Criminal Court

3) Hold a UN referendum to allow Tamils to vote and decide upon their future governance.

4) Free the Tamils from Sri Lankan rulers and respect rights
