We, The Tamil Canadian Elders for Human Rights understand that the UKBA is making arrangements to deport a substantial number of refused Tamil aslum-seekers to Sri Lanka. We most earnestly request you to stop deporting the Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees, if deported at this time their life will be in danger and they will be tortured mercilessly by the brutal Sri Lankan Armed Forces. As per the latest reports the situation in Sri Lanka is not improved at all.
The incidents of the indiscriminate war crimes and genocide committed by the government of Sri Lanka over the Tamil people in the island have been brought to light and proved beyond doubt through various documentations and evidences, including the direct statements of eye witnesses. The Channel 4 Documentary ‘SRI LANKA’S KILLING FIELDS, The UN Panel of Experts Report has further confirmed the same in its detailed report. Although the inhuman and barbaric crimes committed by the government of Sri Lanka have been strongly condemned by the International Community, the Tamil people in Sri Lanka are still under jeopardized and inhumane conditions. In this scenario, it is just and necessary that your good self takes notice of the current situation and STOP DEPORTING THE REFUGEES until the situation in Sri Lanka improve and rule of law is restored and the safety of the refugees are guaranteed by the your Government, The Sri Lankan government and the United Nations. Thank you.
