Sri Lanka will short ly seek the assistance of the United States to try exiled LTTE leader V. Rudrakumaran living there as strong evidence that he had directly supported LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka, the Lankapuvath reported yesterday.

“The Sri Lankan Government is now in the possession of LTTE documents that state Rudrakumaran had control over the LTTE shipping lines which had several ships in some countries,” it said.

The Lankapuvath news agency also stated that evidence further point out that Rudrakumaran had transferred US Dollars 300 million through the Tamil Rehabilitation Organization to buy modern weapons and powerful communication equipment from US based companies to be supplied to the LTTE.

In addition, Rudrakumaran at present is claiming to be the legal expert of the LTTE, was now preparing legal documents in support of LTTE cadres in the US to file action against military personnel of Sri Lanka, based in the US.

Informed sources cited the case filed against Sri Lankan Deputy Permanent Representative, Major General Shavendra Silva as an example where Rudrakumaran had reportedly offered free legal advice under cover, it added.
