Reports Russian Mercenaries Fight For Muammar Gaddafi

In a press conference in New York, within the frames of the 66th regular session of the General Assembly, UN, Libya’s TNC head Mahmoud Jibril announced that Muammar Gaddafi regime fighters include mercenaries from Russia.
UN press service broadcasted Jibril’s speech. “We have everything from Africa, from Arab countries, Serbia, Ukraine, Russia. Gadaffi still has a lot of money, and he has bought a lot of mercenaries,” according to Jibril. He added that he cannot say the exact number of foreign mercenaries fighting for the Jamahiriya leader.
Earlier media repeatedly reported of mercenaries from Ukraine, Belarus fighting for Libya’s leader. However, there were no such reports of Russians. In Septemeber 2011 Russia’s FM stated that TNC detained two Russian citizens, suspected of repairing tanks in Gadaffi’s army.
