The Advanced Training Program on Humanitarian Action is about enhancing the capacity of international agencies operating in a humanitarian context and builds greater awareness and knowledge of the relationship between development cooperation and humanitarian operations in complex environments.
This three-day core training on humanitarian action is offered twice a year, examining key legal, operational and policy aspects of humanitarian action. The humanitarian principles and international legal frameworks will serve as a conceptual underpinning for the training. All sessions are facilitated by experts in relevant fields, are highly interactive, and participant-oriented with instruction modules, case studies and simulations.

This Specialized and the Core Training that precedes it are complementary in content but recommended as a package. The training sessions will explore these challenges through expert presentations and group discussions.
