Protests in Egypt
Dear Kanthaswamy,

Tuesday saw the biggest peaceful demonstrations in Egypt yet. As growing numbers of people in the country and across the Middle East and North Africa region stand up for their basic human rights, we must show that we stand with them.  We have called a global day of action on Saturday 12 February in solidarity with the protestors and in defiance of those who try to deny their rights.

Please come along and invite your friends

Join us in Trafalgar Square, London from midday until 2pm for a mass public demonstration. The event will feature music and speakers including Salil Shetty, Amnesty International Secretary General, trade unions and other partner organisations, plus youth activists from the Middle East and North Africa region.

With a large screen providing a TV link-up with protestors in Egypt’s Tahrir Square, the event is a “Trafalgar to Tahrir” act of solidarity, with social media activists live-tweeting and uploading solidarity images in real time. Please join us and show your support

For those of you who can’t make it to London you can show solidarity by adding your photo to our online gallery.

Please be there on Saturday.
