For anyone aged 13-21, you can submit an idea to be discussed at the UN Security Council under the context of "What is the most vital challenge to international peace and security facing your generation?"

Tell the UN Security Council what issue you believe deserves more attention, and explain why it is important.

Selected submissions will be incorporated into the agenda of the Security Council event on December 21, which will be broadcast live via the web.

This is a great opportunity to raise awareness about Sri Lanka – but think about how it can be incorporated into a submission: e.g. pose a vital threat/challenge to international peace and security and then you can use Sri Lanka as an example. Some ideas: It could be in the context of UN being more effective in implementing R2P, inaction towards States acting outside international laws and conventions, international human rights and democracy, building global rule of law, etc…

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: December 14, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in New York
