ITSO is a non religious non political independent organization working for the promotion and full realization of students’ education rights.

ITSO started off as an independent group of friends, a student in the UK, whose aim was to provide Tamil students, who were affected by the war in Sri Lanka, with educational facilities. Their intention to help his fellow students soon took form of project where they invested their own money to provide a few students with educational material.

The word soon spread and many more students were in the need of books and notes to prepare for their exams. Then he formed the Independent Organization ITSO with its sole aim to help students educationally disadvantaged.

ITSO has coordination bodies and volunteers in each district Sri Lanka Specially in North and East. These coordination bodies and volunteers are University passed out students and University students. They are the people implementing program, projects in ground level and closely monitoring the progress.

Aims and Objectives

To help the disadvantaged students affected by War, poverty and natural disaster. Educate them to ensure a better life.

To help students from stopping their education due to money difficulties.

To help ease the studying process easier for students by funding schools which resources and equipment.

To identify students who have pulled out of education and find out the cause and help them get back to school by resolving their problems.

To help students who are unable to continue their education by giving them work experience and helping them enter the world of work.

To improve students education technologically by getting all students to have access to computers and internet.
