Troy Davis email petition banner

Troy Davis has been on death row in the US for 19 years for a crime he has always said he did not commit.

Saturday 9 October is Troy’s 42nd birthday, but he’ll have even less cause for celebration than usual. Following a recent ruling by a judge in Savannah, and despite ongoing doubts about his guilt, Troy is back on track for execution. Take action for Troy now

No physical evidence links Troy to the murder of Officer Mark MacPhail. Four witnesses on whose evidence he was convicted in 1991 have since admitted in court that they lied. Multiple witnesses have implicated another man in the crime. Others have described police coercion during their original questioning.

We oppose the death penalty unconditionally. But especially when there are so many doubts about an individual’s guilt, no execution should go ahead. Sign the petition now

In June, Troy was given an unprecedented opportunity to present new evidence that could prove his innocence. The hearing was ordered by the US Supreme Court and would not have happened without campaigning by Troy’s family and activists like you.

It was an uphill battle and in August, despite all the questions raised by the hearing and all the unresolved doubts about his guilt, the judge ruled that Troy had not reached the extraordinarily high legal standard required for proving his innocence.

The campaign for Troy continues, and now more than ever we need your help. Sign the petition, send it to your friends and continue to join us in showing solidarity with Troy and his family. We will not give up.
