Sri Lankan human rights awareness night

Human rights group Act Now will be hosting a Sri Lankan human rights awareness night next Thursday, February 11th.
The event will be a night of World Music, Funk, Reggae and Beats brought to you by DJ Yogi Flare from Bristol.(http://www..myspace.com/djyogiflare). We will hope to raise awareness about the thousands of Tamils civilians still illegally held in the detention camps in Sri Lanka and the human right abuses which continue to take place all over the Island.
In conjunction with a Tamil Charity Act Now also hopes to raise some money towards the building of an orphanage through a raffle/donations.
Act Now has up to now concentrated most of its efforts into campaigning for the human rights of Tamils in Sri Lanka. We must remember however that one of our first major actions was in support of the ‘Mercy Mission’ project which delivered aid last year to those Tamils civilians caught in the fighting in Northern Sri Lanka. As Act Now grows and develops we intend to support charitable works in Sri Lanka where we can and where it matters, directly to where people are suffering.
The event is free and will take place in the Inspiral Lounge (230 Camden High Street, Camden Lock, NW1 8QS) – very close to Camden Tube Station – http;//www.inspiralled.net or http://www.myspace.com/inspiralevents.

For those who cannot attend you can listen in by tuning in on an Internet radio by simply visiting the Inspiral website and going to the Events section and then Inspiral radio at eight o’clock when our event starts.
